FUNCTIONAL RESULTS OF OSSICULOPLASTY IN CHRONIC OTITIS MEDIA
Abstract
To evaluate the functional results of ossiculoplasty for chronic otitis media in chronic otitis media by studying clinical and audiological parameters after surgical treatment. Pure-tone audiogram data after one-stage and two-stage tympanoplasty in patients with chronic ossiculoplasty show that one-stage ossiculoplasty for chronic ossiculoplasty is highly effective, and its functional hearing results are comparable to the results of two-stage ossiculoplasty according to audiological data. The functional results of PORP were significantly higher than those of TORP in our study. These results imply that TORP is performed for severe middle ear conditions such as erosion of the stapes superstructure.
